Rohde & Schwarz and the ITE in Singapore are strengthening their cooperation in training technical professions

In a memorandum of understanding, Rohde & Schwarz and the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) in Singapore have agreed on an exchange program between their trainees.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on December 13, 2019 in Frankfurt a. M. during the official state visit of the President of the Republic of Singapore, Halimah Yacob. With the MoU, Rohde & Schwarz and the ITE want to further intensify their cooperation: Over the next five years, students at the ITE and trainees at the Rohde & Schwarz production plants in Memmingen and Teisnach will visit the other country as part of an exchange program.

The ITE is comparable to a vocational school in Germany. One of the goals is to provide students with more practical experience. The exchange program with Rohde & Schwarz initially includes a one-week stay at Rohde & Schwarz Asia in Singapore. The ITE students then spend a week in one of the technology company's German plants. In addition to the practical insight into production processes, supply chain or manufacturing techniques, the focus is on cultural exchange between the trainees.

The first visit by Singaporean students to the Rohde & Schwarz plant in Memmingen took place in June 2019, and another group visited the Teisnach plant in December 2019. In the future, the works will alternate on an annual basis. As early as January 2020, trainees from Memmingen and Teisnach will also travel to Singapore.

Rohde & Schwarz is committed to training. Since it was founded, the technology group in Germany has paved the way for thousands of young people in their careers. Electronics technicians, IT specialists and industrial clerks, for example, are trained today. Graduates of Rohde & Schwarz training courses are regularly among the best in their class locally and nationwide.
