Where can I get avocado in Mumbai

Vegan shampoo made from avocado seeds!

Planting avocado seeds to create beautiful indoor plants after a while is widespread and popular. But there is another use of avocado kernels that is less well known: making shampoo!

In a self-experiment, we have tested both the production and the application of this zero waste shampoo for you!

You need:

  • 3 avocado seeds
  • water
  • grater
  • Sieve
  • container

manual

  1. Let the 3 avocado kernels dry so that they are no longer moist on the outside (tip: If you put the kernels on the heater, it works very quickly!).
  2. Grate into small pieces with a grater.
  3. Bring about 1.5 liters of water to a boil in a saucepan.
  4. Put the grated avocado kernels in the pot of boiling water and simmer for 30 minutes on a low heat.
  5. Then pour through a sieve and let cool down.
  6. The resulting shampoo is quite liquid and has an orange color, as the kernels have already turned orange when rubbed.
  7. You can use the shampoo on its own or mix it with your conventional shampoo! Since the shampoo does not foam and you have to distribute the liquid well on the hair, it is sufficient for a maximum of 8 washes, depending on the length of the hair!

Conclusion

A wonderful, plastic-free zero waste alternative to conventional shampoos! The hair becomes soft even without rinsing, without losing its structure and it even smells slightly fruity! We are particularly enthusiastic about the pure version, because it also eliminates all additives that are harmful to the environment and you! The homemade shampoo stays fresh in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks! Definitely try it out!
