Why are you skipping lunch

I skipped breakfast for three weeks - the consequences were astounding

Our whole life has been told over and over again that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and that if you don't eat it, it can even lead to weight gain. However, some people now argue that the historical link between breakfast and health is just a myth of the grain industry.

There are a lot of rumors surrounding the concept of intermittent fasting right now, and there is growing evidence that not eating breakfast can actually have health benefits - both for the brain and for the body.

Many models and stars like Miranda Kerr and Beyonce reportedly swear by different variations of the fast. There is the possibility to eat what you want five days a week, but only eat 500 calories per day on two additional days. There is also the option of eating eight hours a day and fasting for the remaining 16 hours. The two-meal method is also popular, in which you only eat two meals a day and therefore skip breakfast or dinner.

Only two meals a day

I've always had problems sticking to a strict diet. Eliminating certain foods only increased my cravings. Counting calories has always bored me.

However, after the concept of fasting intrigued me, I wanted to incorporate it into my life. Since I've heard that skipping breakfast can give you more energy, make you eat less and lose weight, it was worth a try.

I decided to optimize my daily routine by skipping breakfast and thus having a fasting window of around 15 to 16 hours per day. This means that I ate my dinner no later than 8 or 9 p.m. and had my first meal of the day at noon. The plan was to last two weeks - but it turned out to be three.

I was not required to have only two meals a day, so I allowed myself to snack during my non-fasting period. So even though I skipped breakfast, I had a good balance so it wasn't too much of a sacrifice for me.

See what happened when I skipped breakfast for three weeks:
