How to troubleshoot problems after changing your PlayStation ™ Network Online ID

Here you can find out how to resolve technical issues related to changing your online ID, such as missing data or trophies that are no longer visible.

Before changing your online ID, here are some things to keep in mind:

  1. Some PS4 games may run into problems after changing the online ID.
  2. Here * is a list of all PS4 games that have been tested for compatibility with the Change Online ID feature.
  3. Your new online ID must comply with our Terms of Use, including the Community Code of Conduct.
  4. PS3, PS Vita, and PS TV games and apps do not support the online ID change feature.
  5. If you are having technical issues, you can reset your Online ID to the original version as described below. Resetting to your previous online ID will fix most of the problems caused by the change.
  6. Online ID cannot be changed for accounts for children.

* The tested games on the list may still have problems if you change your Online ID.

If you have problems after changing your online ID

After changing your online ID, you may experience problems with some games, such as lost game saves. If you have any problems after changing your online ID, please contact our support team to reset your online ID to the previous version.

Resetting to your previous online ID is free and should fix most problems. However, there may be times when this does not resolve all issues (for example, lost content, saved games, or features may not be recovered). If you want to revert your Online ID to the previous version, we recommend that you do so as soon as possible. This step could have an impact on the content, saved games and functions that are linked to your new online ID.
