Is EOS a good lip balm
Lip care in the test: They really help against chapped lips!
Our lips are really sensitive - this already shows their reddish color. Your skin is so thin that the blood vessels show through underneath. Not a good prerequisite for resisting external influences such as cold, dry air or solar radiation.
In addition, there is a lack of sebum glands. This means that the natural skin fat is no longer used as a protective layer. The good news: With the right care, lips stay smooth and supple even in freezing temperatures. In this case, correct care means: products that protect and at the same time promote the regeneration of sensitive skin.
To make it easier for you to find the perfect lip balm, we put various products under the microscope in our lip care test.

Chapped lips in winter: these are the best ingredients
As soon as the temperatures drop, lip balm sticks are back in high season. The freezing cold outside and warm heating temperatures inside dry out the lips and make them brittle and cracked.
Protection is provided by lip balm sticks with oils and waxes that form a sealing film on the skin, preventing it from losing any further moisture. If they are of vegetable origin, they also promote the regeneration of cracked winter lips.
Shea butter, jojoba or rose hip oil are ideal for this. In addition, vitamins (C, E, B5) or active ingredients such as panthenol help rough skin to recover.
Paraffins: problematic or harmless?
Paraffins are fats that are extracted from petroleum. They are often found in lip care because they are cheap to produce and easy to process. They have their justification, because they also protect against acute dehydration.
However, they do not promote the regeneration of the skin - unlike their herbal counterparts. Some experts even assume that they weaken the resilience of the skin on the lips and promote rough areas in the long term.
Addicted to Lip Balm: Is It Really Possible?
With or without paraffin: lip care products are not addicting. Those who use them frequently only get used to the supple, soft feeling on the lips - sometimes so much that, as soon as everything is sucked in or licked away, the skin is perceived as uncomfortably dry. And already it is refilled again.
