Ackerberg Family Sholom West Campus Announces Unique Partnership with AmeriCorps

ST. LOUIS PARK, MN / ACCESSWIRE / May 14, 2021 / The Campus The Ackerberg Family Sholom West is pleased to announce that they are offering a unique opportunity in partnership with AmeriCorps this coming summer.

AmeriCorps, also known as the Inner Peace Corps, is a voluntary civil society program devoted to serving others and meeting the critical needs of the community. To better respond to the challenges that COVID-19 continues to pose, ServeMinnesota has formally partnered with AmeriCorps to develop the Emergency Response Initiative (ERI) program, managed by Reading & Math, Inc. becomes. The ERI has positions available through the Ackerberg Family Sholom West campus.

Those who become members of the ERI will receive assistance in meeting the educational needs of students, tackling food and housing insecurity, social segregation, and more. They are expected to serve 35 hours per week for 10 weeks with various community partners. ERI members receive a perk package worth up to $ 5,000. This includes a stipend of $ 750 every two weeks, an additional stipend of up to $ 1,311 for college or student loans, federal evidence and interest repayment, and individual health insurance with the monthly premium paid in full.

The most important qualification to becoming an ERI member is a desire to serve the community. However, there are still some minimum qualifications that people must meet in order to qualify. ERI members must be a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States. You must be at least 18 years old and have a high school degree or equivalent. Applicants must also be reliable, able to understand and follow instructions, and be able to speak, read and write English fluently. They are also expected to have a good attendance history as well as basic computer skills such as email and online navigation. Anyone wishing to become an ERI member must also agree to a background check and successfully complete it.
