What is a red camera

Blink mini

A red light on the Blink Mini indicates that the camera is not connected to the internet.

The red light is also displayed for the camera during the inclusion process. It should be replaced with a blinking green and solid blue light once connected.

If a steady red light remains, use a thin object to press the reset button shown in the illustration. Then wait for the red light to change into the pattern of a blinking green and a steady blue light.

If the red light does not change within 120 seconds, please contact customer support to ensure that the firmware update completes correctly.

Blink Indoor, XT and XT2

A red light on the Blink XT2 indicates that the camera is not connected to the internet. When setting up the camera for the first time, the red light on the camera flashes 3 to 4 times briefly and then slowly at regular intervals until the connection to the Internet is established. If the initial red light is not visible, make sure you have new batteries installed.

It is also possible that the red lamp lights up briefly during motion detection.

If the red LED on the camera flashes 5 or 6 times after the blue recording light has gone out, this indicates defective batteries. Please ensure that you have installed fresh non-rechargeable AA lithium batteries.

If the red LED is still on, please contact customer support.
